Transmission Jack: Why do you need it?

No matter whether you are a “do-it-yourself” guy or a professional, when it comes to dismounting a transmission case of a car; the task can be quite difficult. But, with the right equipment, the task can become as easy as putting a hot knife through butter. That hot knife in this case is a ‘transmission jack’.

A transmission jack is a (mostly hydraulic and made of high strength steel) jack that can be used to dismount a transmission case of a car that is on a ramp or lift from underneath it. Unlike any other conventional methods using a transmission jack to dismount a transmission case of a car is a safer and easier method as these jacks can handle the weight of large and heavy transmissions and the transmission case too can be secured onto the platform of the jack to ensure a safer dismounting.

The ease of operation and safety provided by the jack during dismounting a transmission of a car makes a transmission jack perfect equipment that one must have in their automobile workshops. It not only is perfect equipment for the professionals but also for the enthusiasts who already own a ramp or a lift and are into overhauling automobiles.

There is a wide range of transmission jacks available in the market depending upon the size and load capacity. These transmission jacks are being made available in the market by brands such as Best Buy Auto Equipment, etc. So, if you are planning to get one for yourself, do not forget to go through the ‘spec sheets’ of the products and choose the correct type of transmission jack depending upon your needs.
